My Life Without Spin Classes

Although winter break was nice and allowed me to go home for a week and then spend more time in the lab concentrating on research, that also meant that spin classes were no longer in session. I typically did 4 or 5 spin classes a week, so this was quite the change to my workout routine!

To fill this void, I ran and swam more (once I even swam 4 days in a week!) and I continued to lift. How did this go? Well, two of my toenails died and my right hamstring is rather tender… Other than that, it was fine, but I am thankful that spin classes started again today. I didn’t even grumble to myself as Antonio announced that we would do “2.5 minute sprint, then 3.5 minute sprint, then 5 minute sprint, ha ha. Fast legs!”

The plan for now includes: more stretching and strengthening my hamstrings (luckily nothing serious is wrong, an athletic trainer assured me of that after an assessment) and spin!!! (Oh yeah, and continue to run, swim, and lift… just not every day… for now. Phew!)
