This weekend, I went with some friends to a cabin in northeastern Iowa for some relaxing low-tech time.  One of the amazing parts was my Sunday morning run, which was up, over, and around the hilly terrain that makes parts of the midwest amazing.  I ran by snow covered fields that were punctuated by single farms or narrow bridges only often enough to remind me that there were people around.
This picture isn’t from the run (it’s from a winter hike to an ice falls), but it still conveys the Iowan winter silence. It would be amazing to train out there everyday.
